Wings, Wheels and Tracks

Historic Military Vehicle and Living History Show

2008 Activities

Displays:
The Wings, Wheels and Tracks Show is again offering a combination events just not found at other shows. Start with two days of being face to face with the veterans, their equipment and vehicles. Take a step back in time and see the "homefront", a WW II 37mm anti-tank gun swing into action, an encampment of US WWII Paratroopers, or a complete repair shop on wheels. With over 75 vehicles expected (including many VERY rare pieces) you will have hours of browsing these pieces.

Programs:
On both days you will also be treated to a series of informative programs that will be sure to please. Watch a massive M-35 wrecker moving equipment and vehicles. The programs are varied in scope and in the era they cover.  Most programs will run approximately 20 minutes and a schedule is posted below.

Armed Forces Day Parade: The Cobleskill Veterans Inc. is sponsoring the 2008 Armed Forces Day Parade.  The parade will start promptly at 3:00 PM (Note the new 3PM time as of 4/1) on Saturday from the Price Chopper Plaza at the eastern end of Cobleskill and proceed down Main Street (Rt 7) to the fairgrounds.  The parade start will be announced by the firing of a WWII 105 mm howitzer!  Led by our Veterans, the parade will include WWII vehicles and tracked vehicles, as well as vehicles from the Korean war through Vietnam and more.  You are in for the parade of a lifetime! The parade will be going right by the fairgrounds so you can easily watch it from the show grounds.   For more information on the parade, go to www.cobleskillveterans.org and click on "events."

USO Show: This event is sponsored the Town of Wright/Schoharie Valley Lions Club and Cobleskill/Richmondville Lions Club.  With only an $8 cover charge, you will dance the night away with the big band sounds of "The Small Town Big Band."  Bringing you right back to 1943, this fabulous band from Cooperstown, NY is one of the best in the region.   The band will be joined by Barb & Mitch Haverly and members of the Depot Lane singers to add to the evenings enjoyment.  Food and refreshments will be available in the building.  The USO show will be held in the "Progressland Building."   100% of the  profits from the show are being donated to today's USO which is working around the world to help our troops.
